German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visits EAC

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was welcomed to ESA’s European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany, on 1 September 2023. Together with ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, Chancellor Scholz heard from ESA astronauts Matthias Maurer and Alexander Gerst and took a tour of the centre’s renowned facilities, where astronauts from around the world come to train. Chancellor Scholz showed his support for promoting Europe's access to space exploration.
